Flood state | Watery Foundation

The governor and legislature were so eager to attack land use regulation that they may have cut off eligibility for federal flood insurance. Bruce Ritchie?s story lays out the details of how HB 503 may force the Federal Emergency Management Agency to stop selling flood insurance in Florida.

Not a great idea for a state whose residents hold 37% of all of the country?s flood insurance policies. Elected officials tripped over themselves while racing to open the door to unregulated development.
