Bahraini yogi and aspiring film producer, Samreen will be teaching a free yoga class Tuesday, June 12.? The class starts at 10:30 at the World Beat Fitness Center in Sar.? Samreen is excited about spreading the news about the benefits of yoga.? You can see ?our? yoga story at http://www.facebook.com/BahrainYoginis
Yogi Virginie volunteered to teach on Sunday, June 17 at 9:30 also at the World Beat.
It?s an opportunity to experience yoga in a wonderful setting.
If you haven?t been to the World Beat Fitness Center, then you are missing something special in Bahrain.? World Beat is a stand-alone fitness studio run by an American Jane Goodwin and her staff ? Eman, Michelle and Jenny.? Yoga, NIA, karate, belly dancing and Zumba are some of the classes offered.? All of the instructors are well-qualified and certified in their specialties.
But World Beat is more than just a fitness studio.? A home to all things that bring health to the mind, body and spirit, Jane teaches a class for breast cancer survivors.? The caf? serves raw-food cookies and organic cakes, fresh juices, Tchaba teas and other light snacks.? Regular coffee morning sessions are held monthly about diverse topics such as raw food, back care, reiki and colors for your skin type.
The World Beat supports the community.? The center is a gallery for local artists ? both experienced and aspiring.? The exhibits rotate monthly.
Currently Canadian artist Francis Stafford is displaying M-Theory.? Like yogis, she is interested in permutated constructions of reality.? Her ink drawings and mixed media installations are based on Edward?s M-Theory in case you are a physics person.
Mini-souqs are held a few times a year offering local vendors to sell their handmade or specialty items.? One is coming up on June 27th.? A used book table supports Tony the Dogfather who always needs to buy more kibble.
As I told a South African lady who moved to Bahrain two weeks ago, it?s a great place to meet like-minded people who care about health, the community and the planet.
