So. While liberty-minded individuals were concerned about the president using his domestic drone program to violate the 5th and 14th Amendments, Missouri Senator Democrat Claire McCaskill was fighting to pass legislation that strengthens the laws regarding domestic violence against women.
Wait, say what? Assault is already illegal?
Surely it?s not illegal to hit a woman ? if it were, why would we need further federal legislation? To make it more illegal? How exactly does that work?
McCaskill touts the legislation as a great thing for victims of domestic violence ? the part she leaves out is that the Violence Against Women Act only protects women. (The most recent update to VAWA also includes victims of domestic violence in same sex relationships.)
Wait, are you saying it does nothing for men who are victims of heterosexual domestic abuse?
Shocking!
Senator McCaskill has made a career for herself crusading for equal rights for women. But if women get preferential treatment in regards to domestic violence, how is that equal?
In promoting the renewal of VAWA, Senator McCaskill reveals her real agenda ? legislating extra rights for women. Because #WaronWomen, right?
